Health care can influence children's physical and emotional health, growth, and development and their capacity to reach their full potential as adults. All children are at increased risk of developing preventable conditions if appropriate care is not provided when they are sick or injured.
Free or reduced fee medical and dental care:
Medicaid/Denali Kid Care - Medicaid provides health coverage and long-term care services for low-income Alaskans. The Division of Public Assistance determines eligibility for this program. Note: DenaliCare and Denali KidCare are the same as Medicaid in the State of Alaska. Denali KidCare is for youth under the age of 19. - See if your are eligible at the Alaska Division of Public Assistance eligibility portal.
Medicaid Renewals - Alaska returned to the regular pre-pandemic process of Medicaid annual renewals beginning April 1, 2023. When it is your turn for renewal, we will recheck your eligibility to make sure you still qualify for Medicaid coverage.
